The two OPM artists stressed that a songwriter should be “specific, clever, and honest.” Authenticity of the stories told in songs are most appreciated nowadays, and as Nicolas puts it, “write what you know.” This is best reflected if the inspiration of the songwriter came from one’s experiences. “Gumawa ka ng kanta na wala na, o wala pa,” Nicolas said.

Clara Benin is known for her unique renditions of OPM classics, highlighting the sincerity present in each song that she covers. Meanwhile, her original compositions tell stories of her personal journey and relatable moments about life and love.
To play is to engage, to create, to interact. MINT students are undoubtedly a creative bunch. In a school that encourages freedom to push past limitations of making things happen, the students learned to create amazing works that does not only catch attention but keeps them.
With this enthusiasm, a YouTube channel is created to become their “playground” where they can try out new ways to make. This is a platform where MINT students can fully express themselves and find people who can relate to them.
